Bluejays crush John Marshall in district opener

After recording a punishing 44-8 win against John Marshall in its third straight road game, Guthrie High’s football players are looking forward to putting their 2- 2 record on the line at Friday’s Homecoming game against the Noble Bears (0-4) at 7 p.m. The queen coronation is at 6:30.

Hock runs for 310 yards, scores five touchdowns

The Coyle Bluejackets secured their first win of the year on September 13 with a 50-12 rout of the Bluejacket Chieftains in Coyle. Carsen Hock led the way carrying the ball 18 times for 310 yards and five touchdowns, all in the first half.

Bluejays rush for 391 yards to beat Demons

Guthrie High’s football team bounced back from its last-second loss to Tuttle in the season opener by thumping the Duncan Demons 54-12 on Friday night, collecting 391 rushing yards and three touchdowns each from Kolton Carlock and Zane Thomas.

Guthrie cross country runs hard at Carl Albert

Guthrie High's varsity cross country teams traveled to Carl Albert on Friday as a warm-up for this weekend’s Tarter Invitational. In a field loaded with seven Class 6A teams, the girls finished sixth and the boys eighth in their divisions.

Lady Bluejays blank Elgin 4-0

The Guthrie High School Lady Bluejays softball team traveled to Elgin on August 29 and won a key district game 4-0 behind Kinley Duehning’s five hitter. Duehning went the distance striking out one and walking one in the game.

GHS JV Volleyball beats Elgin

Pictured Above, The GHS JV Volleyball team in action on August 30 against Elgin. The Freshman won 25-10 and 25-15 to improve to 2-1 on the season. The JV won 28-26,22-25, and 15-9 to improve to 3-2 on the season. The varsity lost 16-25,25-19,22-25, and 17-25 to fall to 0-5 on the year.
