WHY SO MANY ‘THOU SHALT NOT?’

Does it seem to you that God is always saying “No” or “Don’t do that” or “Thou shalt not?” If you think that, you are not alone. Many people feel the same way. Seems as if all He wants to do is stop them from enjoying life.

You probably woke that fateful morning, assuming everything would probably run along on the accustomed track. Never dreaming – or nightmaring – that particular day would be so much different than you expected.

The Opposing Thumb Guy

Take a good look. It’s always there, part of a healthy, whole hand. Hold up your hand and you’ll see it. The one digit that is pointing the opposite of the other four fingers, every time. Oh yeah, you can force it to go along with all the others, but you do have to work at it.

Holiday Shopping

Like most men I shy away from shopping. I’m a buyer not a shopper. When I need something I go to the store, find my item, pay for it, and generally finish the foray in an hour at most.

Grandma lay in the hospital bed, a shadow of the vital, energetic woman she had been just a year ago. Her strong hands that were endlessly involved in her family’s life, providing, comforting, and disciplining, now lay listlessly on the bed cover, thin and fragile.

“THE HEARTACHE SEASON”

It’s arrived. The Holiday of holidays for many. The month-long season of excitement, fun and anticipation. But there is another perspective on the Christmas season, and it’s not one of joy and family.

“MOM’S CANTELOUPEY BOYFRIEND TEST”

Mom and her teen-age daughter were grocery shopping together, preparing for the family dinner on Friday night.  The family always enjoyed fresh fruits, so before paying out at the cash register, they stopped in the fruit and vegetable section of the store.

“DON’T PUT FLOWERS ON THEIR GRAVE”

Here’s what happens so often. A person becomes an adult, marries, has children, grows ill or old, and dies. Then the family of the deceased comes together to grieve, and to then plan the funeral.
