Patsy Ellen Blair, 80, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2026, in Oklahoma City. Born August 18, 1945, in Parsons, Kansas, to Edgar and Tiny (Sanders) O’Dell, Patsy’s life was defined by devotion to her faith, her family, and every child who crossed her path. She married the love of her life, Joe Blair, on April 20, 1967, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Together they built a beautiful life, making Guthrie their home in 1979.
For more than 30 years, Patsy lovingly ran her daycare, caring for generations of children in the community. To many, she was more than a caregiver; she was a steady hug, a listening ear, and a safe place. Her heart extended even further as she fostered 39 children over the years, welcoming each one with compassion and unwavering love. She had a remarkable way of making every child feel like they belonged.
She found joy in playing piano for her church, reading, coloring, and working word searches, but her greatest happiness came from her family. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and the many lives she helped shape.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe; her children, Joseph Wayne Blair and wife Misty, Paula Watson and husband Kelley, and Gayla Grove and husband Justin; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jimmy Lee O’Dell.
Patsy’s life was a testimony of quiet grace and boundless love, and her legacy will live on in every life she touched.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Guthrie First Assembly of God (1900 S. Division, Guthrie, OK 73044) with Pastor Don Gatlin officiating.
Services were under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Friends and family may sign the online guestbook at hayesfh. com.
