Michael “Mike” R. Calvert, 63, was born on July 24, 1959, and passed away December 28, 2022. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Harold Kennith and Bonnie Calvert.
Mike was a lifelong resident of Guthrie, Oklahoma. He graduated from Guthrie High School in 1977 where he met his wife of 44 years Wanda (Stone) Calvert. He worked for Autoquip Corporation for over 44 years starting as a material handler and advanced through the organization to service manager.
Mike enjoyed farming where he raised cattle, deer hunting, and enjoyed watching his children grow up around him on the farm in Guthrie. His greatest joy was his five grandsons. Mike and Wanda were always found wherever the children and/or grandchildren were involved in their many activities.
Mike is preceded in death by his father Harold Calvert, father-inlaw Melvin Stone, and grandparents Harold and Myrtle Calvert and Thomas George and Ina Mae Martin.
He is survived by his wife Wanda of the home, daughter Michelle and husband Travis Schwandt, son Justin and wife Amanda, grandkids Mason and Gavin Schwandt, and Van, Jase, and Axton Calvert. Mother Bonnie Calvert, mother-in-law Mary Stone, two brothers Keith and wife Patrice, Daniel and wife Adriene, and a host of other loved family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Burial will followed at Summit View Cemetery.
