1952-2025
Edward Thomas, “ET”, Vick, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, was born on March 31, 1952 to Murl Vick, Sr. and Arletha (Davidson) Vick in Logan County, Oklahoma, the fourth of six siblings. Edward left his earthly body on Friday, July 11, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after a short illness, at the age of 73.
He leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories that his family will forever hold dear.
Edward was a member of the Catholic Church for many years and then started attending CORE / Church of the Living God #62 in Langston, Oklahoma.
He attended public school in Tyron, Oklahoma and Guthrie. Edward furthered his education in plumbing and was certified as a Master Plumber.
ET was employed by the City of Guthrie Water Works Department for 35 years, where he proudly retired from. He also worked for Red Dirt Construction LLC. for a while.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Murl and Arletha Vick; his sisters, Barbara Thomas, Marjorie Glover, and Beverly Vick; and several aunts and uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Edward leaves behind to cherish his memories, his daughter, LaShawner Morris of Guthrie; his sons, Edward T. Vick, Jr. of Dallas, Texas and Aaron Vick of Grove, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Lionell and LaPorcha Morris, Kalisha Goldsby, KaShawna and KeShon Ash, Kharity and Aaron Vick, Jr.; and his great- grandchildren, Kamauri Morris and Kevon Stukes. He also leaves behind his siblings, Shirley (Vick) Veasley - Scrivener and Murl Vick, Jr. and wife, Regina of Guthrie; brother- in- law, Wendell Glover, Jr. of Del City, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 21, 2025 at Mt. Olive Friendship Baptist Church located at 521 South Ash Street in Guthrie with Elder Donald Morgan officiating and Minister Preston Williams giving the eulogy. Interment will take place at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery in Meridian, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st St., Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
