Donal “Don” Philip Hudiburgh 1943-2025

Donal “Don” Philip Hudiburgh, 82, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025. Don was born on July 10, 1943, in Hinton, Oklahoma, to Lewie N. Hudiburgh and Xenia (Rorabaw) Hudiburgh.

A true cowboy at heart, Don lived a life defined by hard work, faith, and family. On June 13, 1980, he married the love of his life, Monja Findlay, in Newark, California. Together, they shared 45 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures.

For 20 years, Don worked in real estate, where he built lasting relationships and helped countless families find a place to call home. Don was also a skilled watch repairman and also spent time as a bus and truck driver. His strong work ethic and diverse talents reflected his desire to provide for his family and contribute to his community.

Don’s passions extended far beyond his work. He had a deep love for horses and the cowboy way of life, spending much of his time caring for horses and riding trails through the mountains. As a licensed farrier, Don’s dedication to horsemanship was unmatched. He was also a gifted musician who found joy in singing and playing his guitar around the campfire, creating memories for all who gathered to listen.

His faith was the cornerstone of his life. As an ordained minister, Don truly knew and lived the Word of God, sharing his wisdom and comfort with others. His compassionate heart and steadfast belief were a guiding light for his family and friends.

Above all, Don was a devoted family man. Whether camping under the stars, working alongside his loved ones, or simply sharing stories around the dinner table, he cherished every moment with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Monja, and his children: Cheryle Schreiber and husband Bill, Carol Fletcher and husband Richard, Darrell Hudiburgh and wife Kitty, Mike Jones and wife Sandy, and Wendy Cook and husband Kevin. He is also survived by his “favorite child,” his beloved dog, Dusty.

He leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Shawn, Brandon and wife Kristine, Brian, Chris, Natasha and husband Caleb, Scott, Cassandra, DJ and wife Cece, Tyler Rose, Craig and wife Julia, Jewel, Trevor, and Travis and wife Kayla; along with 19 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will continue to carry his memory forward.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Sonny, and his sisters Juanita and Vivian who now welcome him home.

A celebration of Don’s life was held at Community Church in Guthrie on September 18, 2025 with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. His family takes comfort in knowing that Don’s legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on through the countless lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements were under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Friends and family may sign the online guestbook at hayesfh.com.
