Deanna Duehning Appointed to City of Guthrie Ward 1 City Council Seat
The Guthrie City Council voted to appoint Deanna Duehning to the vacant Ward I City Council seat at their regular meeting on June 17, 2025. Duehning will serve the remainder of the unexpired term for the City Council seat vacated by Mayor Ropp, which runs through May 2027. The appointment was made in accordance with the City Charter, Section 2-12, which provides for the Council to fill vacancies by an affirmative vote of at least four
(4) City Council members. As a lifelong resident of Guthrie, Duehning brings deep community roots and a long history of civic engagement to the Council. She has served the Guthrie community through various non-profit and service roles, including as a board member of Helping Community Paws and Claws and the Hope House. In addition, she contributed her leadership and oversight as a member of the Capital Improvement Project Oversight Committee for CIP #2, Growing Guthrie. Duehning’s professional background spans several decades in the medical field, reflecting her commitment to service, compassion, and
