As I complete my time as your mayor, I would like to extend my most significant appreciation for the support and inspiration I have received from the citizens of Guthrie America. I have been blessed to have been a member of Team Guthrie and together we have achieved a number of successes that other communities our size would be so envious. A great city team that turns the visions of the council and city champions into reality! Professionals at every level of the organization: the first responders; the public servants who keep our streets clean, utilities working and parks looking spectacular and the hard working administrative staff that seek every opportunity to maximize your city dollars through, federal, state and philanthropic grants. The results reflect their pride, excellence and efforts: a new waste water treatment plant; enhancements to our airport and the future replacement of the airport terminal; splash pads and tennis/basketball courts upgrades; ground breaking for a new youth sports complex; and an enhanced water source capacity. And let’s not forget about the viaduct on Nobel, the sidewalks on Division and the expansion of trails throughout our park system. This Team Guthrie embraces the energy of our wonderful Chamber of Commerce, the foundation of a dynamic and safe Guthrie Public School system and the vigor of all those organizations and citizens who make us a tourism destination. We see their results all around our community: 1000s of new roof tops; replacement or rehabilitation of dilapidated structures throughout our community and the welcoming of many new businesses including the fantastic Meridian Technology Center. The list goes on and on ----- and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of these successes, to serve you as your mayor!
