Guthrie Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson was recently recognized as the 2025 Oklahoma Superintendent of the Year by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) Simpson was recognized along with his peers from across the country at the AASA National Conference on Education held in New Orleans, Louisiana.
“Wow is all I can say! I’m truly not a fan of individual honors but this is one I’ve shared with our entire team since I was notified last spring,” Simpson said in a Facebook post. “Today, I had the privilege to sit with 49 other colleagues who shared this honor in their state. Most of them offered sympathy to me when they heard I was from Oklahoma. With regard to education, the image of our state is not cast in a positive light to others around our nation. With that being said, I’m beyond proud of how the GPS Family cares for our kids every day! It is truly an honor to lead them as we work to change lives!”
