Safety first is the key to a successful night of trick-ortreating! Here are some pro tips as a once avid trick-ortreater: Put phones down and keep heads up when walking, watch for cars backing up or turning the corner, stick to the sidewalk and avoid running, choose visible or reflective costume colors and bags, bring glow sticks or flashlights. For those who are old or mature enough to roam on their own, tell them to stay in familiar areas and in groups. Peak hours for trick-or-treating are between 5 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., so for those driving, turn on your headlights and stay alert.
