Wings of Hope Expands Butterfly Program to Guthrie

Hope Takes Flight:

Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services is thrilled to announce the expansion of its renowned Hope Takes Flight Butterfly Program to Guthrie. This initiative, created in 2011, features beautifully crafted and custompainted butterfly statues symbolizing hope and transformation. These statues are available in various sizes: large (4ft x 4ft), small (15 in x 15 in), and mini (6 in). Each purchase not only brings beauty and awareness to our community but also supports critical services for victims of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault.

The butterflies have become beloved symbols in numerous locations, with over 100 large statues and 125 small statues gracing businesses, schools, medical facilities, parks, and private gardens across the region. Now, Guthrie will join this movement with the unveiling of a large butterfly statue at the Guthrie Public Library, marking the program’s exciting launch in the city.

“We are thrilled to bring the Hope Takes Flight program to Guthrie,” said Brandi White, Executive Director. “These statues are more than just art; they represent the strength and resilience of survivors and the community’s commitment to supporting them.”

The purchase of one large statue, priced at $4,000, funds two weeks of safe shelter for a woman and her children. Small butterflies, available for $700, also contribute significantly to the organization’s mission. By acquiring a butterfly statue, patrons are not only giving the gift of hope but also playing a crucial role in spreading awareness and supporting vital services.

Wings of Hope serves as the domestic violence shelter for Logan, Payne, Noble, Pawnee, and Lincoln counties. In addition to providing shelter, the organization offers a range of services, including counseling, victim advocacy, court accompaniment, prevention outreach, and parenting classes.

Community members and businesses interested in supporting the program by purchasing a butterfly statue can contact Wings of Hope directly. Every contribution helps to ensure that survivors of domestic violence and their families receive the support and care they need.
