Darris Dean Flowers passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021. He was born January 26, 1942, to Denman Marion Flowers and Margie Gray Flowers. A Celebration of his life occurred on October 9 with family and friends at his home in Guthrie, OK. Darris was especially proud to donate his body for education research to The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Burial will be at the Lula Cemetery, Lula, Oklahoma.
Darris was raised in the Owl Creek community and attended Stonewall Schools in Stonewall, OK. He proudly served in the Marines in recon during the Vietnam conflict. He was co-owner of an equipment service company in Tulsa, OK, and later co-owned a hotel and restaurants in Wray, CO.
He is survived by his special friend Joyce Meads of Wray, CO, and his children, Kevin Flowers, of Ada, OK, Tamara Sharp, of Oklahoma City, OK, Darren Flowers, wife Brenda, of Ada, OK, Lori Palmer, husband Mark, of Checotah, OK, Amy Wipf, husband Mike, of Culver, IN.
And he is also survived by his grandchildren, Tara Mace, Okarche, OK, Rory Sharp, Amelia Island, FL, Lauren Flowers and Caraline Skillern, both of Ada, OK, Darece Gayer, Ft. Gibson, OK, Derek Palmer, Muskogee, OK, Devin Palmer, Oklahoma City, OK, Amanda Laughlin, Oceanside, CA, Lariah Garrison, and Darris Wipf both of Blair, NE, and great grandchildren Kera Avilez, Amelia Mace, Juliana & Reece Sharp, Wiley & Reece Gayer, Hailey and Clinton Palmer, Braxyton Garrison and nephews, Jon Flowers, Shawnee, OK, Chris Flowers, Ada, OK, sister-in-law Bonnie Flowers, Ada, OK, and many friends in the Guthrie, OK flying community and in Wray, CO.
Darris was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, J. D. and Gerald Flowers, infant sister, & nephew, Dwaine Flowers.
