Samuel Edward White, age 84 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on October 3, 2021 in Edmond. He was born on December 9, 1936, in Sand Springs to Samuel and Ruby Marie (Vanhoutan) White.
Samuel had been living in Guthrie for over 70 years. He retired from truck driving in 2004. He was a Free Mason and belonged to the Albert Pike Lodge 162 and Guthrie Masonic Lodge 35, A.F. & A.M. In his free time Samuel loved tinkering with things around his home and building things like toys, bats, and cars.
Survivors include son Sam White and wife Vicki of Hutchinson, Kansas, daughter ReJeania Zmek and husband Jim of Guthrie, Rick White and wife Shannon of Guthrie, brother Don White and wife Donna of Guthrie, brother Willie White and wife Linda of Guthrie, and sister Judy Musil of Edmond. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Stephen Zmek and wife Kendra, Cameron Zmek and wife Madeline, Destany White, Lily White, Marcus Marshall and wife Dustie, Lindsey Dervin and husband Derek, Jessica Webb and husband Everett, and eight great grandchildren. Samuel was preceded in death by his wife Alta Ruth White in August 2021, parents Samuel and Ruby Marie White, grandson Ryan Trevor White, grandson Andrew Jordan White, two brothers, and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Summit View Cemetery with Samuel’s son, Rick White, officiating.
Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 12:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
