The University of Central Oklahoma Alumni Association will host a series of virtual Lunch and Learns and Coffee Chats this spring. These events are open to alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the university.
The next Lunch and Learn will be held at noon Feb. 22, via Zoom. The discussion will focus on healthy meal options presented by Katy Soper, dietetic internship director for Central’s Nutrition Department. Registration is required at centralconnection.org/alumnilunch.
The next Coffee Chat will feature special guest Stan Wagnon, Central alumnus and director of Athletics at Central, at 10 a.m. Feb. 23, via Zoom. Wagnon will discuss the state of athletics since the pandemic, how student-athletes have been impacted and how UCO alumni and friends can continue to support UCO Athletics. Registrants for this event will receive a free UCO alumni coffee mug, which will be available for pick up at a drive-thru, grab-and-go event on campus. Additional virtual Lunch and Learn dates and topics include:
- The Empathic Human-Leading Everywhere, noon, March 18, via Zoom: Linda Clark will lead a conversation surrounding how to understand empathy, digging into how it works and doesn’t work. Participants will leave with a resource list including downloads, podcasts, articles and more.
- Job-seeking Panel Discussion, noon, April 21: The UCO Career Development Center, employer recruiters and alumni will host a panel discussion regarding their experience in job seeking during the last economic downturn.
- Featured speaker: UCO President Patti Neuhold-Ravikumar, noon, May 19: UCO President Patti Neuhold-Ravikumar will provide an update on the university, how UCO has fared in funding with the legislature, what the year ahead looks like, how the university has adapted since the pandemic and how alumni and friends can be of support.
