Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Announces Three Remaining Gubernatorial Candidates

The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) announced today that Gentner Drummond will join Mike Mazzei and Cyndi Munson for the Gubernatorial Agriculture Forum on Saturday, July 25, during the 74th Annual OCA Convention and Trade Show in Tulsa.

Drummond’s campaign confirmed Monday evening that he will participate in the forum. With his confirmation, all three candidates remaining in the race for governor are scheduled to attend.

“We are pleased that all three candidates will participate in the forum and appreciate their making time to discuss the issues affecting Oklahoma agriculture and rural communities,” said Michael Kelsey, OCA executive vice president.

The forum will begin at 3:15 p.m. in Seville 1–3 at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center. Longtime Oklahoma farm broadcaster Ron Hays will serve as moderator.

Each candidate will answer the same questions and receive equal response time. Questions have been provided to the candidates in advance and will focus on issues important to agriculture, the challenges facing farmers and ranchers and each candidate’s goals for Oklahoma.

“Agriculture is the backbone of Oklahoma’s economy, rural communities and way of life,” Kelsey said. “The participation of all three candidates gives agricultural producers and other Oklahomans an opportunity to compare their positions and hear how each intends to work with the people who raise our food, care for our natural resources and support rural Oklahoma.”

The Gubernatorial Agriculture Forum is one of several featured sessions during OCA’s 74th Annual Convention and Trade Show, held July 24–25. This year’s convention theme, “Cattlemen of Tomorrow: Built by the Brand,” recognizes the values, traditions and people who have shaped Oklahoma’s cattle industry while preparing the next generation of producers and agricultural leaders. The Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center is located at 6808 S. 107th E. Ave. in Tulsa.

The OCA is the trusted voice of the Oklahoma cattle industry and works to protect and empower Oklahoma cattlemen today, to serve tomorrow. OCA is the only voice that speaks solely for the cattlemen of Oklahoma and represents beef producers in all 77 counties across the state.
