Logan County student awarded OSU scholarship

Maysen Garrett was honored by the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture with academic scholarship support for the 2025-2026 academic year. Mason is from Crescent, OK, and was awarded the Joseph Fleming Memorial Transfer Scholarship. Mason is an Animal Science Major.

‘Season of the Warrior’ Tour Spotlights Rich Heritage of Native American Military Contributions

The Force 50 Foundation brought its “Season of the Warrior” campaign to Guthrie on Sept. 15 as part of an ongoing statewide tour as residents and veterans gathered to learn about the Oklahoma Native American Warrior Project.

Langston University will host its semiannual Tri-Campus Blood Drive with the American Red Cross of Oklahoma on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Langston University works with the Red Cross to host a blood drive on all three Langston campuses every spring and fall semester.

Guthrie Rotary Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Lily Rechlin. She is the daughter of Kyla and Ken Rechlin. Lily is Yearbook Leader, a member of Student Council, active with volleyball, basketball and track and a member of National Honor Society. She tied the school record in high jump.

Logan County’s Economic Development Council held its Sept. 3 luncheon on the third floor of the Lazy E Arena, where General Manager and Vice President Dan Wall outlined the venue’s economic footprint on surrounding communities.Wall noted that the arena’s major rodeos pump millions into the region.
