Free Tax Services Available from AARP Foundation Tax-Aide

Taxpayers who would like to file their own Federal and State taxes for free will have a new option available this year. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide now has a Facilitated Self-Assistance (FSA) site at the Guthrie Public Library for taxpayers with adjusted gross income (AGI) less than $79,000.

Guthrie Chamber Ribbon Cutting

Last week, the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce held an official Ribbon Cutting for Chamber Investor, Ember Imagery. Ember Imagery is an award-winning portrait photography studio specializing in child, family, maternity, and monthly mini-sessions. Her studio is located at 111 1/2 S. Division.

Coyle Porkchop Feed Saturday Night

The last FFA/4-H Pork Chop Feed and Auction of the year will be Saturday night February 3 at Coyle High School. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. The dinner will begin at 5 p.m. in the new gym on Bond Avenue. The live auction will start at 7 p.m.

Guthrie FFA hosts Annual Blue-Ribbon Show

Ross crowned 2024 Crescent Basketball queen

The Crescent basketball teams celebrated Homecoming on January 26 with games against The Academy. Kynlee Ross was crowned Homecoming Queen and CJ Wilson was crowned Homecoming King in pre-game ceremonies. The Lady Tigers won their game 37-35 against The Academy and the Tigers would lose 60-38.

Friends of the Guthrie Public Library Annual Used Book Sale

The Annual Used Book Sale of the Friends of the Guthrie Public Library will be on Saturday, February 3, 2024. As in past years, the sale will be in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Presbyterian Church, located at 102 E. Noble, in Guthrie. The sale hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
