John Vance Auto Group will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a community event on Friday, March 3rd, starting at 11am. The Vance Auto Group locations in Woodward and Miami will also host 40th anniversary celebration events on March 3rd.

The event is being held at the Vance Auto Group headquarters at 5322 S. Division Street, Guthrie. The celebration will include Biggby’s BBQ and Big Daddy’s Burgers’ food trucks, 80s music with DJ, a horn hole competition, kids’ inflatables, and other 40th anniversary activities.

Vance Auto Group is a familyownedcompany that opened its first dealership in south Guthrie in 1983. Today, Vance Auto Groupownsand operates three new car dealerships in Guthrie, three additional dealerships in Miami, and two in Woodward, Oklahoma. Vance also is the home of Newby-Vance Mobility, specializing in vans and vehicles for the disabled, with locations in Guthrie and southwest Oklahoma City.

“We have been in and have enjoyed the new and preowned vehicle retail business since my father, John Vance, opened the

doors in 1983,” said Megan Vance, Vice President of Vance Auto Group. “We have made so many friends and loyal customers since our beginning. We hope everyone will come and celebrate with us as we begin our fifth decade of serving the vehicle needs of Oklahomans, and others who reside in just about every state in America.”

Local leaders in Guthrie were quick to comment on the Vance Auto Group and the Vance family’s support of community causes and needs.

“The Vance family is truly one-of-a-kind. Before I took over the Chamber, I already knew who the Vance’s were because they are simply everywhere. During my tenure as the Guthrie Chamber President, I have had the honor of working alongside the Vance’s. I have seen firsthand just how much they truly care about their customers, their staff, and most importantly, their community,” said Brittany Timmons, President of the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce. “The Vance family continues to give their time, energy and funds to support many local businesses, events and non-profits. I am truly honored to not only have the support of the Vance’s through the Chamber, but to now call them my friends.”

” My family and I have lived in Guthrie for 18 years now, and it’s been a significant experience for me to see the fingerprints of the John Vance Auto Group all over the life of this community,” adds Justin Fortney of the City of Guthrie. “The quality of life that my family has enjoyed in Guthrie has been due in no small part to the investment John Vance and family have made in the events, causes, and organizations that bind this place together.”

Guthrie City Manager Leroy Alsup also enthused about the event: “Vance Auto Group is one of the most outstanding corporate citizens in our community. Their financial support, along with the countless man-hours of time they donate to a wide variety of community efforts is second to none! We could not be prouder, that they are headquartered in Guthrie.”

Vance’s anniversary is not just about the past, but also about the future. Megan Vance emphasized that feeling: “I am always very much thinking about the future. We want to do everything we’ve been doing but [do it] better, to continue to grow and improve. We also want to really double-down in these communities we’re in.”
