United Way of Logan County is inviting community members to get involved in a new way this summer through a series of volunteer experiences designed to highlight the work of local nonprofit organizations while providing hands-on service opportunities.
The new initiative will give participants an opportunity to volunteer at several United Way partner agencies while learning more about the organization’s 2026 fundraising campaign and the impact those agencies have throughout Logan County.
Participants can choose from three volunteer experiences scheduled throughout July.
The first event will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 13 at Camp Twin Cedars, 1 Twin Cedar Lane. Volunteers will assist with activities and crafts for Make Promises Happen youth and teen campers as they wait for their turn on the camp’s accessible high ropes course. Space is limited to 15 participants.
A second opportunity is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m. July 16 at Hope House Guthrie, 1916 E. Perkins Ave. Volunteers will help assemble food boxes, prepare hygiene kits and organize clothing, baby and utility rooms. Fifteen volunteer spots are available.
The final experience will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 22 at God’s Food Bank, 402 W. Vilas Ave. Participants will assist clients as they move through food distribution stations and select items for their families. Space is limited to eight volunteers.
United Way officials encourage residents to reserve their spots early and invite friends, coworkers and family members to participate.
The experiences are intended to provide a firsthand look at the services offered by United Way partner agencies while creating opportunities for community members to make a direct impact.
To reserve a spot, contact Debbie Kirk at dkirk@unitedwayokc. org or call 405-523-3515.
