M-O FFA Celebrates National FFA Week

Mulhall-Orlando FFA members were in full action mode as they commemorated National FFA Week. This celebration of the national youth organization is an annual event held during the same week as George Washington’s birthday, as he was greatly dedicated to agriculture. During this time, FFA chapters all across the nation share their mission of preparing the next generation of leaders in American agriculture.

Members of the Mulhall- Orlando FFA Chapter kicked off National FFA Week at the Logan County Livestock show. Callen Oldenburg won Grand Champion Breeding Ewe as well as Grand Champion Market Lamb. Jace Taylor achieved Grand Champion Wether Goat, Reserve Champion Breeding Doe, and Bronze Breeding Doe. Lincoln Oldenburg won Reserve Champion Market Goat, and Roberto Romero won Grand Champion Breeding Doe as well as Bronze Market Wether.

ext, chapter officers Casyn Larman, Hanna Schmidt, and Lora Golay visited the 103.1 KOFM Radio Station to interview with host Alan Clepper. The group shared with Clepper recent chapter activities, future plans and events, and the officers’ most memorable moments in the blue jacket so far. The interview aired the morning after it was recorded, and is now available to listen on KOFM’s social media and website.

To wrap up National FFA Week on Friday, February 24th, chapter officers brought doughnuts to teachers at the Mulhall-Orlando Junior High and High School to show their appreciation, as teachers play one of the biggest roles in the lives of future agriculturalists.
