The KOCO 5 news team made a stop in Guthrie on Wednesday, July 17.
The stop is part of the 70 year “On The Road” celebration for KOCO commemorating 70 years on the air. The tour began on Monday July 15 with a stop in Enid, where the KOCO journey began. The tour then traveled through Shawnee, Guthrie, Yukon and will make its final stop in Moore on Friday, July 19.
While in Guthrie, the KOCO 5 team traveled across town and toured popular spots around Guthrie. The festivities also feature a story that takes a look at the Guthrie Gunfighters, an old west reenactment group that seeks to preserve some Guthrie history through living exhibits and reenactments.
Also included in the stop was a celebration in downtown Guthrie from 3:30-7:00 where people were given the opportunity to meet the KOCO team. The celebration also included live on-site news broadcasts at 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
