Dightman scores 25 points as Lady Bluejays beat Lady Bears again

The Guthrie Lady Bluejays got 25 points from Mariah Dightman on Friday January 27 and for the second time this season the Bluejays beat the Noble Lady Bears 47-36 in the Homecoming game.

The score was tied 14-14 after the first quarter and the Lady Bluejays led 23-21 at the half. Dightman had 12 of Guthrie’s 23 points at the half. The Lady Bluejays would stretch the lead to six points at 36-30 after three quarters before cruising home to the 11 point win in the final stanza.

Dightman would finish the game with ten field goals and 5-for-9 from the free throw line for her 25 points. Kynlee Smedley had some well timed three-pointers to score nine points for the Lady ‘Jays. Senior Anjewl Murillo finished the night with eight points. Ania Morgan closed out the offense chipping in with five points. Noble’s MacKenzie Heeke scored Noble’s only six points in the fourth quarter on the way to 19 points.

Guthrie travels to No. 2 Carl Albert (14-3) Friday night before No.4 El Reno (12-3) visits Guthrie next week for the first of six home games to close out the season.
