Development of a new wind turbine farm in northern Logan County was introduced at Monday’s Logan County Board of Commissioners meeting.

“We have another wind turbine coming to the county called Wagon Wheel,” said District 3 Commissioner Monty Piercey. “(The project) will be very interesting.”

Chicago-based Invenergy is developing a 600-megawatt wind project called Wagon Wheel that will be located southeast of Enid in Kingfisher, Garfield and Logan counties. It is anticipated to begin operations in late 2025.

In other matters, Commissioners: * approved a bid of $71,944 to purchase a 1993 Stewart and Stevenson truck for the Mulhall Fire Department; * approved the Fiscal Year 20222023 contract with OSU Cooperative Extension Services; and * accepted a $2,500 donation from Mike Prosser Farms to District 3 for crushed asphalt to be placed on County Road 74 between Pennsylvania Avenue and May Avenue.
