Logan County’s Board of Commissioners on Thursday tabled any action on establishing the terms for trustees of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) districts beginning July 1 of each term (year).

The Commissioners postponed the matter until its next meeting since District 1 Commissioner Marven Goodman was unavailable to attend.

The EMS boards for Guthrie and Crescent need to be reappointed after it was found that the boards were out of compliance with its term limits since the 1990’s.

An EMS board is in place to provide ambulance services to portions of the county with a provider and overlook funding for its district. EMS board members were appointed to three-year terms instead of five-year terms.

The third EMS board in the county, North and East Logan County Emergency Medical Services (NELCEMS), is in compliance.

In other matters: * Commissioners approved accepting an application from Bob and Terresa McGuire for the establishment of a private cemetery; appointed County Clerk Troy Cole as investigator/examiner of the application; and approved Cole to set dates to hold a public hearing and authorizing notice by publication.

* Commis s i one rs also approved a Medical Transport Solutions (MASA) Employer Benefits Agreement, allowing employees to purchase ambulance coverage.

* The Commissioners took no action on approving permanent road crossings permits for Horizon Hill Wind, LLC.

District 3 Commissioner Monty Piearcy said all of the road crossing permits requests were in his district, and he wanted a chance to review them.

“I would like to do no action today,” he said. “I would like to read through all these permits.”
