Logan County’s Board of Commissioners have established the filing dates for the Free Fair Board of Trustees election.
“This will establish the filing period to begin Jan. 23 and end Jan. 27,” County Clerk Troy Cole said.
“The election is to be held Feb. 10 at the District 1 barn and District 2 barn, and the District 3 election will be held in this building.”
In other matters, Board members selected District 3 Commissioner Monty Piercey as Chairman, and District 1 Commissioner Mark Sharpton as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Commissioners; and approved a State Auditor’s Letter of Engagement for County Officer Turnover Report for District 1.
Commissioners also did their annual inspection of the Logan County Detention Center, which was built in 2007.
“It is starting to show its age a little bit but, overall, it looks really good,” Piercey said. “You (Sheriff Damon Devereaux and staff) have done a good job keeping it up.”
