The biggest tournament weekend of the year begins Thursday morning with all of the Logan Countyarea teams in action.
Guthrie High’s teams are traveling down the road to Kingfisher for the Buckle of Wheat Tournament.
* The Lady Bluejays (6-4) start at 12:50 p.m. against Harrah (7-4), while Weatherford (112) and Chisolm (4-9) are in the other half of the bracket.
* The Bluejays boys junior varsity team follows with a 2:10 p.m. game against Weatherford (130). Guymon and Perkins-Tryon are in the other half of the bracket.
* Guthrie’s varsity boys team (6-5) plays at 5 p.m. against Chisolm (7-6). Kingfisher (10-2) and Harrah (1-12) are in the other half of the bracket.
Championship games are Saturday at 6 p.m. and 7:20 p.m.
If you like small-school basketball, then the Coyle gym is the place to be as Coyle, Crescent and Mulhall-Orlando all have entered the tournament.
* The Coyle girls (8-7) open the tournament Thursday at 10 a. m. against SW Covenant (8-6). The M-O Lady Panthers (7-9) get the No. 1-seeded Okarche Lady Warriors (12-4) at 12:50 p.m. Okeene (12-2) faces the Crescent Lady Tigers (1-10) at 6.
* In boys action, the Mulhall-Orlando Panthers (4-11) have an 11:20 a.m. game against SW Covenant (11-3). The night session starts at 4:40 p.m. with the Crescent Tigers (6-6) playing Watonga (5-7). The Coyle Bluejackets (11-4) wrap up the first day of play with a 7:20 p.m. game against Okeene (5-9).
Championship games are scheduled for Saturday night at 6:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
The Cashion teams are in their County Line Tournament that is loaded again this season. The Wildcats (7-5) play Fairview (5-4) at 5:40 p.m., while the LadyCats (5-7) face the Perry Lady Maroons (7-6) at 7.
Teams from Dale, Varnum, Tuttle and Oklahoma Christian School highlight the boys bracket. Silo, Dale, Varnum and Oklahoma Christian School highlight the girls side of the bracket.
Championship games are scheduled for 7 and 8:30 Saturday night.
