Guthrie High School’s Lady Bluejays track and field team capped its 2024 season with an 11th-place finish at the Class 5A State Track Meet, scoring 30 points. Lincoln Christian won the title with 123.

Guthrie High School’s track teams produced some solid performances at the Edmond regional on May 4, particularly the girls, who will send three relay teams and multiple individuals to the Class 5A State Championships this weekend at Western Heights High.

The Cashion LadyCats’ track team took third place at this year’s Class 2A state meet, totaling 57 points, with standout performances across multiple events. Reese Williams led the way as she clinched first in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking in at 47.26 seconds.

When the Bluejays baseball team left Elgin Thursday night, they were in the driver’s seat. By Saturday afternoon, they had been mounted to the hood. Elgin took a page out of the old horse-racing story, saving their best horses for the weekend, and their strategy paid off with two final victories over Guthrie and a punched ticket to this weekend’s Class 5A state tournament.

Emma Poupard, Jillian Minter, Aspen Mitchell, Rylee Tobin, Kenzie Hardesty, Hollie Mitchell all made it to the state tennis tournament. All of them have advanced to the second day and will be competing today. Jillian Minter and Rylee Tobin are in the semifinals and guaranteed to medal. So proud of these girls and how hard they have worked this year!
