Guthrie High School Principal Chris LeGrande Named Oklahoma High School Principal of the Year

Oklahoma City (March 5, 2020) – Chris LeGrande, Principal at Guthrie High School, has been named the 2020 Oklahoma High School Principal of the Year by the Oklahoma Association of Secondary School Principals (OASSP), a professional association of the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA).

“We are beyond excited for Mr. LeGrande to receive this honor,” said Dr. Mike Simpson, superintendent at Guthrie Public Schools. “He is an innovative leader, and his dedication to student achievement is evident every day he walks through the doors of our high school.”

UCO Ranked Among Top Universities for Online General Studies Program

The University of Central Oklahoma is ranked as a top institution for online Bachelor of General Studies according to a recent national ranking by Online Schools Report. Central ranked 31 out of 35 and is the only higher education institution in the state recognized on the list.

Programs were ranked in areas based on student satisfaction, admission rate, online presence, popularity at school, department size and median debt by program. Data sources include the National Center for Education Statistics and the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard.

Students in Meridian's CNC Short Course Receive Scholarship from Gene Haas Foundation

Three students in Meridian’s evening Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Machining Operations and Programming short courses were awarded with a scholarship from the Gene Haas Foundation. The scholarship will cover their tuition for the semester-long program that began January 21.
