Six Logan County golfers are set to play in the first-ever Oak Tree Junior Classic next Tuesday at Oak Tre Country Club in Edmond. The tournament will be a 36-hole, one-day event with a 120-player field where contestants will play 18 holes at Oak Tree East and 18 holes at Oak Tree West.

Among the 120 participants are Guthrie’s Luke Morgan, Bo Robbins, Brady Hirzel, Jaxon Hirzel, Crescent’s Dominic Stevens, and Coyle’s Josiah Morris. The six Logan County golfers round out what is an impressive field, as seven of Golf Oklahoma’s top-10 players from its high school will be participating, including Jaxon Dowell of Edmond (ranked second), Jordan Wilson of Edmond (ranked third), James Roller of Tulsa (ranked fourth), Luke Morgan of Guthrie (ranked fifth), Bo Robbins of Guthrie (ranked ninth) and Tres Hill of Elk City (ranked 10th).

Although this tournament happens during a dead period for college recruiting and despite no national ranking points being awarded, the winner of this tournament is guaranteed a spot in the Oklahoma Golf Association Junior Boys and Girls Championships Presented by Taylor Moore June 1-4 at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond, OK.

For those who want to watch the Oak Tree Junior Classic, you can do so free of charge. However, they do ask that family and friends keep a minimum distance of six feet from all other groups of spectators to help abide by any social distance regulations that are still in place the day of the event.
