The defending back-to-back state champions are off to a great start.
The Guthrie High School golf team won their first tournament of the year after firing a team score of 305 at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club Monday afternoon. Guthrie finished with five players in the Top-7.
The Bluejays were led by Luke Morgan. Morgan, who competed in his first tournament since having wrist surgery six months ago, finished first overall with a two-over-par 74. Brady Hirzel finished in second place overall, after shooting a 75 on the day. Luke Roach and Bo Robbins came in at third and fourth place after both players finished with a 78. Jaxon Hirzel rounded out the scoring for the Bluejays, finishing in seventh place with an 82 on the day.
The Bluejays will be back in action on March 23rd when they travel to Ft. Sill to play in the Red River Invitational.
