Guthrie High’s Lady Bluejays basketball team lost a 28-25 heartbreaker to Newcastle on Saturday in the championship game of the three-day Noble Tournament. Now, Guthrie (4-6) will focus on a big stretch ahead, against Elgin on Tuesday, at El Reno (10-0) on Friday, and at Crossings Christian on Jan.

OSSAA vote allows one transfer for all high school athletes

High school studentathletes will now be eligible for a one-time transfer between schools regardless of if said schools are in-district without sitting out a year. The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) announced recent changes to the high school sports transfer rules regarding Rule #8.

Crescent High’s football playoff run nearly ended before it started Friday night on its home field._ But the Tigers, who had trailed No. 10 Ringling 28-14 at halftime, stormed back to win a 35-34 thriller as Kade Varner scored the tying touchdown on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter, added the go-ahead extra point and then sealed the deal with_an interception at Crescent’s 41-yard line. The Tigers (10-1) now travel to meet top-ranked Fairview (11-0) this Friday night for a quarterfinal game with the defending Class A state champions, who are on a 26-game winning streak.
