OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Army National Guard invites local media to the departure ceremony for a small group of members with Company F, 3rd Battalion, 238th Aviation Regiment, July 1, 2020.
The outdoor ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Veterans Park, located at 1900 Southeast 4th Street, Moore, Oklahoma 73160. Soldiers are available for interview at 11 a.m. before the ceremony begins. If interviews are wanted, we ask media to arrive no later than 10:45 a.m.
Company F is deploying to CENTCOM’s area of responsibility where they will provide air traffic, air space and airfield management services. The unit enables combined arms teams to synchronize Unmanned Aircraft Systems and manned aircraft in controlled airspace as the senior aviation commander directs and leads ongoing operations.
Members of Company F will move onto Fort Hood, Texas to complete post-mobilization training before officially heading overseas later this Summer.
