Tresa Marie Jones was born July 10, 1936 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Basil and Opal Tharp Herren. She took her last breath December 09, 2020 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Tresa was raised on a farm southwest of Crescent. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. Tresa attended Crescent Public Schools. She married Loren Leslie Jones, July 02, 1954. Loren preceded her in death in June 2006. Of this marriage, two children were born, Quepha Dot Smith and Kip Merrell Jones.

Tresa worked for many years at the Masonic Print Shop before they opened their own business, Midwest Publishing & Printing Company in 1973, which is currently run by her son. Her diabetes damaged her sight so she had to be driven everywhere. A friend said she was Kip’s sidekick. Tresa continued to work until a year ago when dementia set in and her health started to decline. She then moved to Golden Age Nursing Home, which she loved and felt safe. Tresa was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter for over fifty years. She loved the farm where she named all of their cows and couldn’t understand why Kip didn’t name his cows. She loved the lake even though she didn’t like the water. She loved cooking, especially Sunday dinners for all of us. Most of all, she loved those grandkids: Shannon Lyle, her golf pro, who actually shared the same birth date, Amber Dawn, her Optometrist and Mandy Marie, her Accountant. And then came the love for her great-grandkids: Easton, her athlete, Kasen, her hunter, Emma, her sporty girl and deep thinker, Ozzy, her free spirit and last but not least, Stella Kate, her smart & sassy one. She also loved her bonus great-grandkids, Bryce Sullivan and Gracynn Smith.

Tresa leaves behind to cherish her memories: daughter Quepha Smith and husband Mike of Edmond; son Kip Jones and wife Becky of Guthrie; grandchildren, Shannon Friday and wife Kristin of Oklahoma City; Amber Roby and husband Chris of Okarche, Mandy DeHart and husband Seth of Chickasha; great-grandchildren Easton Roby, Kasen DeHart, Emma Roby, Ozzy DeHart, Stella DeHart, Bryce Sullivan and Gracynn Smith; brother Lex Herren, Crescent; cousin Glenda Jarnagin. Also, a very special friend and fellow worker, Bill Hightower, along with his family.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Oakland-Knowles Cemetery, Crescent. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
