A vital component of Oklahoma history is needing volunteers.
The State Capital Publishing Museum (SCPM) located at 301 W. Harrison is extending opportunity for anyone interested in volunteering to do so.
“We have been inventorying artifacts in the building during the summer,” said Cynthia Rolfe, board chairman. “Cleaning is another priority. Additionally, we will ask volunteers to gather research and review information and write rough drafts for programming. We need help with content for programming and social media, especially stories people remember about the building or museum when it was open.”
Cleaning, organizing and inventorying began Thursday, July 9, and will run every Thursday through Aug. 27. Each session will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and a waiver and confidentiality form must be signed before volunteering. Volunteers will also need to pre-register.
For volunteers interested in helping with content, simply complete the initial form on the website and a board or staff member will contact you. More information can be found at their website : https://www.publishingmuseum.org/volunteer.html. You can also call 405-282-4123 or you can email email@example.com.
Should you be unable to volunteer at this time but want to stay informed about progress, let the SCPM know at https://www.publishingmuseum.org/contact.html . The board enthusiastically encourages volunteer participation in committee work.
