One of the most important things about any modern wedding is, of course, to make it memorable.
The wedding party may choreograph a dance and surprise the guests. The bride or groom may sing. There might be a s’mores bar built around a fire pit; or now, there may even be a sweet, little donkey named Gus serving the drinks.
Gus likes to wear his best headdress of flowers and his favorite over-the-back coolers filled with ice to gently carry beers or other cold drinks to wedding guests who might offer him a pat on the head in return.
This polite, festive donkey has only been in Oklahoma a short while. His parents, Cary and Kelli Anderson, returned to Oklahoma in September of 2019. Cary is a retired federal agent, and Kelli works for John Vance Auto Group. They had planned to debut Gus in the beginning of this year, but the coronavirus crisis has slowed things down for now.
The Andersons have recently rescued two more donkeys from a kill pen. Woodrow is only 6 months old, so he’s still fuzzy, but he’s eager to learn the business from Gus, and is already becoming a very affectionate professional. Clara is the nurturing mother type. She has adopted little Woodrow, and she may be pregnant.
All three cuddly cuties will eventually be available to hire as an added feature to weddings, parties, dinners and meetings of state.
