• How will grades be calculated?

Students will receive the grades they earned through March 12th.

• Will students be allowed to make up missed work, make corrections or anything to raise their current grade?

High School students or Junior High Algebra I students may raise their grade by up to 10 percent through one of two methods. They have the opportunity to make up or correct previous assignments from the 3rd nine weeks with instructor approval, or by contacting their individual instructor by email to obtain and complete the equivalent of assignments for one week as provided. These nongraded assignments will be approximately 30 minutes in length each for a week long span.

• Will there be a graduation ceremony?

Every effort will be made to honor the Class of 2020 with a traditional commencement ceremony. The ceremony will likely be delayed, but at this time we are committed to providing this senior class with the ceremony they deserve in a traditional format.

• Will there be a prom?

Unfortunately, we are forced to cancel the 2020 Senior Prom. The current guidelines from the State Department of Education and the Centers for Disease Control will not allow for a gathering of 10 or more.

• Will students be promoted to the next grade?

Unless parents have been informed that their child was a candidate for retention in the current grade, they will be promoted to the next grade. School personnel will be in touch with parents of children who were under consideration for retention in the current grade.

• Will students still be receiving their yearbooks?

Elementary and Junior High yearbooks are scheduled to be delivered from the publisher in May and will be distributed when safe to do so. The High School is considering a possible Fall delivery to students based on when it arrives from the publisher and it is safe to conduct a distribution.

• How do I return a library book?

Please call the school your child attends between 8 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday and arrange to return the book. All overdue book fines will be forgiven for the 2019-20 school year.

• When will students be allowed to retrieve their belongings from school?

Currently, our school buildings have extremely limited access by staff only. We are following the direction of the SDE and the CDC. Parents and students are not allowed to enter the building to retrieve personal items for the safety of everyone. We will communicate to everyone when it is safe to enter.

• When will enrollment for the 2020-21 school year be?

We will work toward a solution when more is known about relaxing CDC guidelines regarding crowds of 10 or more.

• What about Rookie Roundup for my pre-K student?

Normally, we have what is called Rookie Roundup in April to preenroll all of our new to the district pre- K and kindergarten students for the following school year. As you can imagine with the current pandemic situation we are experiencing we are not able to conduct enrollment at this time. Rest assured you have not missed any enrollment deadlines, as no one has pre-enrolled for next year. Once a plan is finalized we will update all parents on our district website and Facebook page.
