The Guthrie Police Department is still following up on a case of a reported fetus being found buried in a backyard Friday night.
The call originated as a 911 call for medical assistance by an unidentified adult female shortly before midnight Sept.11. The caller told paramedics that she had a miscarriage earlier in the day. When questioned where the fetus was, another resident in the house disclosed that it was buried in the backyard. Guthrie Police Department investigators and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was then called in.
Guthrie Police detective Michael Schmidt said, “The investigation is ongoing. There have been no criminal charges as of today. The caller was being uncooperative Friday night and we have numerous interviews to still do.” Detective Jason Hamilton is leading the investigation for Guthrie. The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office took the fetus to their office for further examination.
