Guthrie’s 89er Committee has chosen the Parade Marshal for this year’s 89er Parade: Private First Class Andrew “Taylor” Goddard of the United States Army. Private Taylor has already demonstrated a profound commitment to his country, a trait deeply ingrained in his family’s history of service.

Fisher leaves after 15 years at helm

Crescent High’s football team will be under new leadership for the 2024 season. Coach JL Fisher, a 1992 Crescent graduate and lifelong resident, said he is stepping down after 27 years, including 15 of those as the Tigers’ head coach, to spend more time with his family.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Christian Perrin. He is the son of Trinity and Chris Perrin. Christian has been in football, powerlifting, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society. He is a 2024 Valedictorian. After graduation, Christian plans to attend UCO for a business degree. Guthrie Chamber Ribbon Cutting

On Friday, March 1st, the Guthrie Chamber held an official Ribbon Cutting for Chamber Investor, Mouthfull Confections. Mouthfull Confections is located in downtown Guthrie at 117 W. Oklahoma. Mouthfull has partnered with several other chamber investors and other small businesses. They offer freeze-dried fruit, candy, art, popcorn, homemade jams, jellies and more. Mouthfull Confections was originally located at the Shoppes and has now moved to a permanent location. We are so happy for this business.
