City Outlines Details of CIP Tax Extension

The City of Guthrie hosted a public forum this past Wednesday to go over the details of the upcoming vote on extending the Logan County Capital Improvement Project sales tax for an additional 15 years, to support the City’s much-needed upgrades in several key areas of infrastructure. The vote to extend the tax will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd.

County Tax Propositions pass

The three propositions to maintain the quarter cent sales tax in Logan County for roads, jail maintenance, and the volunteer fire departments were all approved on March 5.

Guthrie Rotary Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Rain Porter. She is the daughter of Chiara Porter. Rain is in choir, Student Council, Girls Soccer Manager, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and is a Valedictorian for 2024. She received an excellent rating at All-State in solo and ensemble. City Council approves mutual aid agreement with Crescent Fire Department

The Guthrie City Council Tuesday approved an automatic mutual aid agreement between the City of Guthrie and the City of Crescent to provide mutual aid assistance during emergencies. This agreement will set a standard operating practice of both fire departments being dispatched to emergency scenes within the defined boundaries outlined in the agreement.
