Guthrie's Morgan, Robbins named to OCA All-State Team

Guthrie High School golf standouts Luke Morgan and Bo Robbins added more accolades to their resume's this week, as the two seniors were named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team. 

The duo helped lead the Guthrie golf team to back-to-back state titles and were likely en route to a third straight state championship before the Oklahoma Secondary Sports Athletic Association cancelled the season due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

OSSAA sets Friday special board meeting to approve plan for summer activites

Oklahoma high school sports could soon be returning. 

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association executive director David Jackson said the association will be holding a special board meeting on Friday to discuss restarting prep sports across the state. The special board meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m.

Six Logan County golfers set to play in the first-ever Oak Tree Junior Classic

Six Logan County golfers are set to play in the first-ever Oak Tree Junior Classic next Tuesday at Oak Tre Country Club in Edmond. The tournament will be a 36-hole, one-day event with a 120-player field where contestants will play 18 holes at Oak Tree East and 18 holes at Oak Tree West.

Local Health Care Provider One of the First in the State to Use the FDA Approved Rapid Antigen Test for Covid-19

Xpress Wellness Urgent Care will be one of the first in Oklahoma to use Quidel’s Sofia Rapid Antigen test for Covid-19. Xpress will be providing the rapid Covid-19 tests at all 18 of their clinic locations throughout Oklahoma and Kansas. Patients who undergo this nasal swab test, similar to flu testing, will know the results within 15 minutes. The patient’s health care provider will explain results of the test during the clinic visit.

Church on the Hill is sowing seeds

The Church on the Hill is already sowing seeds into the Guthrie community. Senior Pastor Richard Hogue, along with pastors James South, Caszie Bennett, and Debra Bennett presented a $10,000 check St. Mary’s Catholic School Principal Jacque Cook Tuesday afternoon. “We believe in what we call ‘first fruits,’ Hogue said. “We are sowing this into your teachers as a gift from the Lord from us to you all to bless you. We want to partner with you and bless you and your precious teachers.”
