Basketball games this week: Feb. 17-22nd

There will be plenty of great basketball this week and it starts with a clash of two Class 2A powerhouses out in Cashion for senior night. We'll see Guthrie celebrate its seniors on Friday. Then the week will be capped off with playoff basketball for four of the local teams. 

 

Monday:

  • No. 14 Cashion LadyCats host the No. 5 Dale Lady Pirates.
  • No. 2 Cashion Wildcats host the No. 3 Dale Pirates.
    • *Senior night festivities start at 6 p.m.

Lady Tigers nab Three Rivers Conferece Title

When Crescent went on the road and beat rival No. 14 Cashion this week, the Lady Tigers knew it was a big one. As it would turn out, the win would give the Lady Tigers the tie-breaker for the regular season Three Rivers Conference title.

The Lady Tigers finished tied atop the conference standings with Cashion at 5-1 after the LadyCats upset No. 4 Okarche on Tuesday. The 49-42 win over LadyCats would give Crescent the title outright.

Playoff pairings announced for Cashion, Crescent, and Guthrie

The OSSAA released the playoff pairings for the upcoming basketball postseason and we now know who Cashion, Crescent, and Guthrie will face in the coming weeks.

The Crescent Tigers will face Stroud High School in the opening round of district tournament next Friday at 8 p.m. in Pawnee. Stroud is 2-17 and has only beat Class B Shidler and 3A Chandler this season. The Lady Tigers drew a first-round bye and will face the winner of Stroud and Pawnee on Saturday, February 22nd at 6:30 p.m. in Pawnee.
