Richard Huckleberry, age 76, of Guthrie, OK, passed from this life on February 24, 2020.
Richard Huckleberry was born on May 5, 1943, in Konawa OK, to Ernest Huckleberry and Wanda Pamplin Huckleberry.
Richard served in the U.S. Army, and was a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, OK.
After his service in the Army, Richard was employed as a Quality Control Technician and Lab Technician, working in the Army Ammunition Plant near Kansas City. Later, he moved to Durant, OK where he was employed at the Water Quality Management Lab in Durant, OK, (where he spent most of his career) and later being employed in Water Quality Management Labs in El Reno, OK, and Langston University near Guthrie, OK.
Richard was of the Baptist faith, being baptized on August 19, 1973 by Pastor E.L. Mullen, First Baptist Church of Konawa, OK. Richard was a member of First Baptist Church, Caddo, OK.
Richard loved to play golf, and was a member of the Cedar Valley Golf Club in Guthrie, OK. He also was a lifelong OU Sooners fan.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Wanda Pamplin Huckleberry in 1956.
Richard is survived by one sister, Linda Huckleberry of OKC, and four cousins, Vaughn Pamplin of Mustang, OK, Jim Pamplin of Florida, Frank Starns of Weatherford, TX , Roy Brock of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his dear friend of 42 years, Lorene Patton, of Durant, OK, Lorene’s family, and a host of loving friends.
Cremation services are provided by John Ireland Funeral Home of Moore, OK.
