Barbara Ann Bode, 80, passed away on August 7, 2020. She was born November 21, 1939 in Oklahoma City, OK to Mary Alice and William Claude Brewer. She graduated from Fogerty High School in Guthrie, OK.

Barbara married Louis W. Bode on April 12, 1957. She assisted her husband on the farm as well as worked outside the home. She worked in the accounting office at Central Casket Company, Gulfstream Aerospace, Safeway Home office and Fleming Foods. She also managed the Town House Motel in Guthrie for several years.

During their 63 years of marriage, Barbara and Louis enjoyed traveling together. They travelled to all the states except Hawaii and Rhode Island. They also enjoyed traveling to Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Switzerland and with the Salers Cattle Association tour in France. But the most memorable trip they took together was their long awaited, last trip which was an Alaskan Cruise in 2013.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Calvin Brewer.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Bode, and three children: Cheryl Bode, of Guthrie; Brenda Stewart of Mulhall; and Bobby Bode and wife, Katrina, of Guthrie. Barbara was blessed with 5 grandchildren – Bethanie Britton and husband, Rusty; Derek Owen and wife, Aubrey; Jenna Stewart, Kyle Bode and Kaylee Bode.

Barbara worshiped at Poplar Warner Church of Christ, Guthrie, OK and for the last 15 years at Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M.,Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the Memorial Road Church of Christ, 2221 E Memorial Road with graveside and burial following at the Morris Heights Cemetery on Hwy 51 in Orlando, OK.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home in Guthrie.
