The Crescent Tigers improved to 3-0 last Friday night with a 20-18 win over Boone-Apache for Homecoming.
The Tigers held off the visitors in the fourth quarter, as neither team crossed the goal line.
The visitors scored first with 7:14 to go in the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead. The Tigers responded immediately with a 69- yard touchdown pass from Cade Watkins to Cannon Bowers and the Tayon Johnson PAT was good and it was 7-6. The Tigers would stay ahead with another touchdown right before the half on a Hunter Wilmoth seven yard run and it was 13-6 at the half.
The teams would trade touchdowns in the third quarter with Boone-Apache scoring first to make the score 13-12. Wilmoth would get his second touchdown of the night at the 4:47 mark and the Johnson PAT made it 20-12. The visitors would score for the final time at the end of the third quarter and the score was 20-18 and that is the way the game would end.
Crescent had 273 yards of total offense and the visitors had 260 yards. Crescent was 6-for-12 with an interception for 123 yards in the passing game. The Tigers ran the ball 33 times for 153 yards. Luke Descher led the way with nine carries for 72 yards and Wilmoth had 15 carries for 63 yards to lead the way. Bower was the leading receiver with three catches for 97 yards.
On the defensive side, Bowers and Johnson led the way with seven tackles.
The Tigers hit the road Friday night to Putnam Heights in Oklahoma City for their last non-district game of the year before opening district play in Enid on Sept. 25 against Oklahoma Bible Academy.
