Cashion Football Downs Oklahoma Bible Academy 53-7

The Cashion Wildcats warmed up for their Friday night district showdown with Tonkawa last weekend with a 53-7 rout of the Oklahoma Bible Academy (OBA) in Enid.

The Wildcats struck first on a 51-yard pass play from Ben Harman to Brexton Green, and the Lance Christensen PAT made it 7-0. OBA would even the score on a 32-yard pass play from Bodie Boydson to Jud Cheatham, and the PAT was good for a 7-7 game.

Cayden Harrell then scored on nine-yard and 58-yard runs and with the extra points being good, quickly boosting the score to 21-7 after the first quarter.

The Wildcats would put the game away in the second quarter on a Harman to Landon LaGasse 57-yard touchdown, a Harman to Mason Manning 47-yard touchdown and Green’s second touchdown of the night, which made it 40-7 at the half.

Harrell got his third touchdown of the night on a one-yard run, and Jackson Vandruff got the final score of the night on a 16-yard pass from Harman, adding up to the final score of 53-7 after three quarters.

Harman would end the night 12-for-19 with five touchdowns and one interception for 226 yards in the game. Harrel led the rushing attack with nine carries for 151 yards, as six players ran the ball 27 times for 198 total yards. The Wildcats ended up with, 453 yards of total offense. OBA had 146 yards of total offense in the game.

Harman spread the ball out to five receivers, with Manning and Green having five catches each for 78 and 75 yards respectively.

Defensively, the Wildcats were led by Justice Broadbent with nine tackles, as their defense had nine tackles for losses of 34 yards in the game. Nick Nabavi had four of those tackles for loss for ten yards in losses.

The Tonkawa Buccaneers (6-1,4-0) come to Cashion Friday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff in a game that will decide first place in the district. Tonkawa’s only loss is to Class 2A Perry 39-26, a team the Wildcats beat 49-13 in Week 1. The coaches have voted to rank the teams each of the final three weeks to determine play-off seeding. The Wildcats are #1 with 30 points, the Bucs are #2 with 25 points and Crescent who plays Cashion in week 10 are third with 23 points.
