Crescent’s Hunter Wilmoth did a little bit of everything to help the Tigers pick up its fourth win of the season last Friday night, as Crescent went on to beat Healdton 15-0.
Wilmoth scored the Tigers only offensive touchdown of the game on their second drive of the first quarter. On the first play of the drive, Wilmoth scampered for a 78-yard touchdown to put the Tigers in front 6-0. Wilmoth then found Trent Fisher for the two point conversion to push the score to 8-0 with 7:01 to play in the first quarter.
The Tigers would not score again until the third quarter. With Healdton driving deep into Crescent territory, the Bulldogs were looking to tie the game with 3:31 to play in the quarter. On 4th and eight from the Tigers 16 yard line, Wilmoth jumped in front of the Healdton pass and returned it 84-yards for the final touchdown of the night. Tayon Johnson added the extra point to put the game at its final score of 15-0.
Wilmoth finished with 173 of Crescent’s 217 yards of total offense.
The Crescent defense pitched its first shutout of the season, holding the Bulldogs to just 158 yards of total offense on 49 plays.
