Former Cashion LadyCat standout, Sydney Manning will be playing on national television this weekend.
Manning and the Missouri State Lady Bears (23-9) earned a No. 11 seed in the NCAA Tournament after capturing the Missouri Valley Conference’s automatic bid with a 94-79 win over 21st-ranked and top-seeded Drake Sunday afternoon. Manning matched a career-high 14 points off the bench, going 5-7 from the floor, and knocking down three of four attempts from behind the arc.
Missouri State will open their 15th NCAA appearance this Saturday, March 23, when they face sixth-seeded DePaul (26-7) in Ames, Iowa. The game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. tip off and will air on ESPN2.
DePaul is ranked 24th in the latest AP poll, and finished second in the Big East with a 14-4 league record. Missouri State is 0-5 all-time against the Blue Demons, with all five meetings taking place between 2005-10. This is the first trip to the Big Dance for the Lady Bears since 2016. They are 14-14 all-time in the tournament and have been to the Final Four twice in school history, in 1992 and 2001.
The winner between the Lady Bears and Blue Demons will face the winner of third-seeded Iowa State and No. 14 New Mexico State on Monday, March 25th.
