The Crescent Lady Tigers secured a season sweep of rival Cashion on Tuesday night with a 13-3 win at Crescent in five innings. The Lady Tigers scored seven times in the second inning to take a commanding 8-0 lead. The Lady Cats scored three times in the top of the fifth inning for their only three scores of the night.
Tristen Heiden and Katie Cronister started the scoring in the first inning with singles. Heiden scored on Cronister’s hit moments before she was caught in a run down at second base. In the second inning the Lady Tigers send 11 batters to the plate. The runs scored off four hits and six Cashion errors in the inning. Meghan Wilson, Alaysia Wilson, Kaylie Counts and Cronister had the key hits in the inning.
The Lady Tigers added two more runs in the third inning and three more runs in the fourth inning to close out their scoring for the night. Meghan Wilson added her second hit of the night in the third inning along with Morgan Wilson’s double to start the inning and several walks forced the runs home. Meghan Wilson got her third hit of the night in the fourth inning as the Lady Tigers finished off their scoring for the night.
The Lady Tigers tallied nine hits and mixed in with six walks and six errors scored all the runs necessary to score their second win of the year over Cashion.
The Lady Cats finally got to Crescent starter Faith Renner in the top of the fifth inning. Cashion had five hits in the fifth inning to plate three runs and had runners on first and second base when the game ended.
The Lady Tigers are 20-9,10-3 in district play after defeating Crossings Christian 16-6 and 11-5 Wednesday. The Lady Tigers were scheduled to finish up a suspended game with district front runner Dale Thursday afternoon. The final score was not available at press time. The Lady Tigers have secured second place in the district and will have to travel to Mangum for the regional round in two weeks.
Cashion Has finished their season at 6-14 after being eliminated at Binger-Oney in district play Thursday afternoon in two games.
