As we enter week four of the high school football season, games will mean a little bit more now as district games begin for all Logan County teams. Here’s a look at Coyle vs Medford.
(2-1) Coyle vs (0-3) Medford
At A Glance:
These two teams enter Friday night trending in opposite directions. The Coyle Bluejackets looked primed for another run towards the playoffs, while Medford is seeking its first win of the year.
Coyle wins if…
Coyle has found its recipe for success this season and that’s to run the ball. The Bluejackets have attempted only six passes all season and that’s due in part of the success they’ve found with their running back. Damon Caine has been incredible through the first three games. He already had 644 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. He’s averaging 8.1 yards per carry. If Coyle can rely on their workhorse again against a Medford defense that gave up 306 rushing yards last week in their 53-6 loss to Ringwood, the Bluejackets could end this one at halftime.
Medford wins if…
Medford has yet to score more than 12 points in a single game this year. In the past two weeks, the Fighting Cardinals have been outscored 103-6. The only way Medford can keep this one close is if they can force Coyle into some turnovers.
Coyle scores early and often.
