Oklahoma State Bank donates $1,003 to United Way

Hundreds of community-minded companies throughout central Oklahoma host annual fundraising drives for the organization. Oklahoma State Bank's Guthrie branch employees raised all of the $1,003.

Local 4-H group makes donation to Woodcrest Fire Department

The kids are all members of the South Logan County 4-H program Kids Learn by Doing. The South Logan County 4-H Club and Cloverbuds donated water to the Woodcrest volunteer Fire Department and were given a tour by Anderson. During the tour, the kids got to climb in the trucks, see all of the equipment like the Jaws of Life and even use a sprayer truck.

Guthrie Library announces fall programs
Pictured above, Guthrie Public Library Director Cyndi O holds Washington Irving's "A Tour on the Prairies," part of the program "Let's Talk About It, Oklahoma!" The program is from 6-8 p.m. at the library, located at 201 N. Division St. Sept. 28, Oct. 26 and Nov. 23 with the books "Sand in My Eyes," by Seigniora Russell Laune, "Catalogue," by George Milburn and "Briarpatch," by Ross Thomas." The program is made possible by a generous grant provided by the Oklahoma Humanities Council and sponsors the Kirkpatrick Family Fund, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Inasmuch Foundation. Rotary Student of the Week
Pictured above, The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week, Trista LeGrande with her father and Guthrie High School principal Chris LeGrande and Rotary Vice-President Deanna Veal. The Lady BlueJays softball team, tennis team, LinkCrew and the student council are among the activities LeGrande is involved with at GHS. LeGrande also attended Girls State this summer. Southern Nazarene University and it's nursing program is where LeGrande will be headed after graduation. LeGrande is the daughter of Chris and Sharolyn LeGrande.
